Liquid surf school & surf camp Fuerteventura - surf spot guide

Spot Guide

Due to its steep volcanic shelf and its exposure to Atlantic swells, Fuerteventura has consistent powerful waves on the North and West coasts. The East coast gets wrap-around swells and has consistent wind-swell in the summer because of the Northeast trade winds.
Winter is the best season for advanced surfers, with lighter winds and Atlantic storms bringing in quality waves, averaging about 6 ft.

The water is warm, with winter temperatures still higher those in Europe in the summer, and you can surf in boardshorts/bikinis from June – September. There are waves to suit all abilities, from fun beach-breaks to gnarly lava reefs. The beauty of this island is you never have to drive far – it’s 15 mins from east to west coast beaches, and the North Shore between them is littered with lava reefs for all levels.
